Video Glasses

I was browsing the internet when I came across these "video glasses", I really liked the idea, but the problem is no store stocks them in Australia, so I can't try them before I buy. Does anybody have one of those out there? If so, I'm curious as to how it performs. I'm worried about the resolution, the highest resolution I can see is 680x480 and any gamer can tell you that its an unplayable resolution for games like Far cry, Doom 3. Command and Conquer 3 etc etc.

And has anybody ever tried using them for gaming?

Those are for X-Box not pc use there. That's a different ball game altogether. For pc you would need a higher resolution seen in pc game versions of the games. For any tv gaming system those would have to geared to the preset display the X-Box version would see there. You can't raise or lower the resolutions on those.

I wonder if those would be disorienting having an image so close to your eyes.. just thinking about it makes my eyes hurt. :|

yeah, that's what I'm worried about, but apparently it makes your eyes focus 3.5m away so it wouldn't get tired. I'm very uncomfortable in spending 300 bux on something I can't try before.

It has been around for a few years now and it still haven't caught on. I don't know if its because its cr*p, or its because its too expensive to make. Although the idea is very attractive though.

Those kind of remind me of the old movies where you wore 3d glasses before the improved special effects came along later. Those are more or less for enhanced viewing when you are playing an action or auto racing game to kind of bring things to life a little more. If you think $300 is high take a look at the set seen for $1200 at http://www.i-glassesstore.com/iglassespc-3d.html !!!

In the 1950s you didn't have the things that have been developed in animation and special fx effects since that time. The old creature features were the type of film where the glasses where supposed make things jump out at you.! :P These days much is simply done by computer technology.
