Video ipod Problem

I CANNOT CONVERT MOVIES FOR IPOD!
I have used the iTunes converter- no sound! I have used the latest MediaCoder-either no sound or video (or iTunes doesnt recognize it). I dont get it! on the iPod they dont have sound. The movie quality is just fine, no problems there. I am (with medai coder) converting the sound into AAC lossless. The iPod reads MP4 and AAC! but- apparently, only MP4. Help! any help is appreciated.

Yeah, I've had some issues with the iPod video compatability, but the only suggestion I can offer is to continue to do some trial and error. I haven't been able to figure out any pattern to the success.

Ipod sucks, seriously, go for something, Ipod sucks so much they make macs.
First off, it's iPod, not Ipod.

Secondly, I have had my iPod Nano since September of 2005, and I must say that it is... amazing. It's even better when you put on a new OS (like iPodLinux or Rockbox).

Lastly, the statement "Ipod sucks so much they make macs" is grossly incorrect, considering that Apple makes a huge chunk of their revenue by selling iPods. Since Apple would be nowhere where they are now without the iPod, a more proper statement would be that "Macs suck so much they make iPods", even though that isn't the truth, as Macs are still respectable computers.

Take your fanboyism and ignorance elsewhere, and try and help this person instead of insulting the product he bought.

And also just for the record, the reason why iPods are much more expensive than other "equivelant" products is that the quality of the iPod is much better than other products. I know if I had anything else, my little iPod would have been broken a looooong time ago... :o

If you like macs, you like XP, i dislike the programming of both. I dont mean to make fun of iPod but seriously, iPod is so seriously inconvenient, cant store info on it as a Usb Flash drive. The ear phones suck, u drop those from the what 6 feet from ur ear, THEY BREAK! iPod was only famous because of what i call the "Napoleon Dynomite" gossip. Only reason to buy is to brag that you have it, only reason its liked is cuz everyone has it... iPod also is with iTunes, and iTunes embarrasses itself... Have you ever seen how they save their wusic? Open the file, the files are as coorrupt as a Macntosh, HAHA! lol...

Ecsed, you shouldn't make statements about things you know nothing about.

Wrong. We all know that if you enable the iPod for disk use, you can store files on it like a normal flash drive.

I have had my iPod earphones ever since I got my iPod Nano, and I have dropped them numerous times... off my deck, in the hallway at school, on concrete when I'm walking down the street, and they still sound the same as when I got them the first day.

Sure, that's how it's stored when you use the default iPod OS, but if you get a replacement OS like Rockbox, you can sort it back into folders, and have legible filenames, instead of just having random filenames.

Yes Videora is the best it always works in transcoding to H.264.

Is your computer Yup to video conversion Of MPEG-4 or H.264. Its Pretty CPU intensive and you need alot of RAM.

yea, use videora iPod converter for converting movies to iPod format... itworks like a charm and it is freeware....

you can get it here

Edit: bleh bigsouceybob beat me to it... i didn't see the 2nd page :o

if u have dual-core it is even better... my dad has dual-core and run 2 instances of the application, one using each core, and convert 2 videos at once and it doesn't slow down compared to 1 video at once.

The only problem that I've noticed with Videora is that if the file is over half an hour, the audio/video syching gets off. But, other than that, it does work great!

THanks guyz! I actually had an amazing coincidence, when i bought a MaximumPC mag with the cd ($9!). The one i happened to get had teh converter on it. Lucky. It works just fine, but i tried to convert Advent Children, and it didnt work. (to be expected, i guess). Everything works- now Ill have to delete all teh vids that have the watermark over the front from my previous converter.
