Hi everyone.

Im having trouble trying to watch my movies in real player on my laptop on the tv. I currently am using the S-video to scart from laptop to tv. the screen shows up and real player shows up on the tv, but the actual movie area is black on the real player on the tv. sound is fine.

Can anyone please help so i can watch my computer movies on the big screen. Also the tv screen is alittle blurry as in bad resolution from laptop to tv, and way to improve this also.

thanks in advanced

Your first problem sounds like your typical overlay problem. Most machines have to have a "primary" display set and will only play their video overlay on this screen. Try setting the TV-Out as your primary screen, or maybe even your own screen... Or, if you have some ATI or Nvidia card, it might have a mode where you will only see the video on your screen while its playing.

As for the second problem, there's nothing you can do. Svideo runs at around 720x480 non-interlaced.. So, you loose A LOT of quality during the conversion.

thanks that sorta makes sence to me now.......i cannot make the tv a primary monitor only a monitor from the monitor port not the s-video port.

i seem to have lots of ati options in my monitor settings area in control panel. does anyone know what settings i need to change.

i have this message appear when i enter overlay options....

"the overlay controls are automatically activated during playback of any video file type that supports overlay adjustments"
