Ok here's where I stand.. everything in my signature is what I'm using right now.. I tried playing WoW about a week ago now, and after a few hours the screen froze and I got the following error..

Ok, so I tried downloading and installing the latest Video Drivers, but no success.. After the initial 2 hours then freezing, I would tab out to close out the error, and it started happening every 30 minutes or so...

Then my pc would just lock up, and I would have to manually reboot...

I thought after re-installing the drivers that I should try another 3D game, so I tried COD4, and the images were not smooth, and then the same problems where I got the above error, or just a crash...

I used to play COD4 all the time with no errors... Earlier I opened a 2D game and it locked up, then I rebooted and here I am... Any ideas?? Please help, I'm desperate for a solution! :(

It happens with me also, on my Radeon x1300pro, id love a solution. Got the latest drivers too.

Nah it's not a heating issue, I got a 120mm fan right on it, and it feels as cool as anything..

Another Update, I've disabled hardware acceleration and write combining, and it's still happening anyone please??????????

^ Those probably don't have anything to do with 3D acceleration, so that's really no surprise...

Does this only happen when you're playing 3D games?
Do all 3D games do this (Try some out), or only specific ones?
How about 2D games? (I'm not talking about something like minesweeper, but something that actually uses the graphics card/DirectDraw)
Have you tried whatching DVDs or doing anything that may utilize the graphics card, and encountered problems?

I've tried watching DVD's and it gets choppy, or sometimes there's a mesh like coating on the video not always, but often..

This is getting tricky... unless something's screwed with your computer, I'd suspect your card is going bad. Can you try the card on another computer, or another card/onboard on your current computer?

Oh and I, just out of curiosity, would get a Linux distro that supports 3D-desktop-whetever-acceleration, Sabayon Linux being the only one that I can think of right now, oh wait I think the new Ubuntu 8.04 comes with beryl, right? These use 3D acceleration to render the desktop&whatnot, and if you can run it fine, the problem's probably something that could be fixed with a fresh install. Whatever distro you get, you may need to take extra steps to enable this 3D-whatevereyecandysomethingitwascalled, or some like Sabayon linux ask what type of accelearation to use when booting off the live DVD.
