Video Randomly Cuts Out

I built my first computer over the summer last year but i have encountered one problem. When I am using my computer for something like browsing the internet, everything works fine. However.. whenever i play a game like LoL or SC2, at random my monitor goes blank. My computer is still on, but the monitor shows nothing and i have to restart the computer to get it working again. Also.. if im wearing headphones at the time when this happens it makes this loud buzzing type noise. It has only happened when im playing games which include: Starcraft 2, League of Legends, Blacklight, Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto, etc.

Now that summer has started again and I have all the time in the world, I spend a lot of my time playing games. Over the past week this has become quite irritating.

Ive updated my video card drivers to the latest ones and even tested my RAM with memtest.

And my specs are:
Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-VPro
GPU: R7870 Twin Frozr 2GD5
PSU: ANTEC 750Watt
RAM: Corsair XMS3 DDR3 16GB(4 x 4GB)
CPU: Intel i5-3570k

Is the problem my video card? If so what do you think is wrong with it! Any help is extremely appreciated.

Thankyou.

maybe try installing speedfan and see if its overheating... What are your headphones plugged into? are they plugged into your monitor (or any other way it would be coming out of the hdmi port on the graphics card) or are they plugged directly into the computer?

another thing (mostly out of curiosity) when you reboot, does windows give any kind of error message, like the completely useless windows has recovered from a serious error?

My headset is plugged into the back of my computer but recently i have heard the sound come out of my speakers as well.. it doesnt happen all the time. Sometimes it is completely silent and the screen goes black while others it makes the buzzing noise.

To your question about windows saying it has recovered from an error like one you would receive after getting a blue screen, this never appears. I simply reboot the computer and continue whatever I had been doing.

If your headset is plugged into the computers sound and not the video card like you said, then the problem is probably more than just the video card. (it might not be but that would be my guess) did you try installing speedfan or core temp or something to see your temps? (you can find a link to either on Google, I know speedfan is available on CNET. Com) And you might also try going to the event viewer and seeing if you can find any errors. You can get there by typing event viewer into the start menu.
