'video shot'

I'm doing a college project where I need to create music to some sort of video. I would like to do it to one of my games (motogp 3) but filming my screen with a camera does not give very good quality. My question is, is there software that can video what is happening on your screen (like a screen shot, but video).
Thanks for any help, Rich.

this program displays your FPS in games, it takes screen shots, and you can make videos (including audio) of anything on your computer screen. It uses up a fair amount of cpu usage, so if you have a nice cpu, then this will work very good. The free version only allows 30 seconds of video, you need to buy a pro version to get unlimited video recording. not sure on the price though.

Try Hyper Cam 2, search on Google. Its a little laggy on my Pentium4 but I don't think there's a time limit.

My guild in World of Warcraft (yes I'm an addict, someone shoot me please) uses Fraps primarily for recording. It makes good videos in my opinion, but as geoff said, it also takes a lot of performance. However I think it's fairly cheap to get the pro version.

I've downloaded and tested all three that were posted up, and so far fraps seems the best - runs the highest resolution and fps, and is the smoothest on my computer. Thanks for the links, very useful :)
