Video Text Overlay Software

Heya all. I need an application, a small one that can quite simply put a bit of text at the bottom of a video stream passing through the PC, the PC is the encoder for a video camera being streamed over the net.

I need to put a simple string of text on the bottom of it.... any ideas... even if i have to change the encoder im using to a different one, how can i get a tezxt string along the bottom of the video stream.

*EDIT* - also, what we need here is a plugin for Windows Media Encoder, not jsut a seperate app, cheers
