Videos stopped playing in ALL my programs

This just recently happened, and doing a system restore to the date I know videos worked didnt help. When I play videos, its just black, with just sound playing. I tried playing it in WMP 10, Quicktime, Nero Showtime, and Divx player. Oddly enough, quicktime files play in quicktime, so its just .avi's and .wmp's and stuff. Anyone know whats going on?

EDIT- It doesnt have to do with Codecs cause I have most of the codecs, but files from my camcorder does not work as well. And they are .avi

ya i have codecs. If i didnt, it would have that screen where you see something visually. Ive downloaded divx and xvid and everything.
