I've had a 17" LCD ViewSonic monitor for around 6 months now and there have been a few annoying issues I've just been ignoring and I've not clue how to resolve though I've tried.
When I attempt to play older games, such as Starcraft, the top 1 to 2" of the screen is cut off so as that cut now allow me to see the resources I've gathered, etc. There is no way to manually resize the resolution in the game itself, it is fixed at 640x...
Also, when the computer boots up and you are seeing the BIOS info and the like the same issue is there. It looks like the monitor has zoomed in on the info being displayed and entir 3 to 4 letters are cut off both sides and top and bottom.
And what also may be the same issue is that when I'm playing any kind of video in media player, the top 1/8 of the screen looks like it is being torn anytime there is fast movment and frames.
It is far to late to establish that the monitor is simply defective so I'm hoping there is a BIOS fix or a display option I've been missing. I've scoured my computer for answer and as usual I must reley on the vast and all-powerful knowledge of the intraweb. This is the site I spent 2 months conversing with to help me pick and monitor so I'm optimistic that someone has a clue as to what the problem is.
