Virtual Box Internet Connection

On my laptop I have a network bridge (for other computers to connect to the web) but I can not seem to get VBox to connect to the bridge, or out of the bridge, it says *Local Area Connection Connected* in the VM but I cant get onto internet explorer or the Windows Activator (online.) I have tried putting the VM virtual adapter on the host machine and it still does not make any difference. Please help!

Did you try the connection before even messing with the settings? I have never once had to touch the default settings (see below) for any OS ever to get internet working.
The way it is setup it will use the host computers connection, regardless of how the host is setup. As long as the host has a connection so does the VM guest.
Now if you need to setup ssh/ftp/samba etc that's a different story.
