hey guys,
I've gotta Dell Dimension 3000 at my apartment, that I'm away from right due to being a lil close to the coast of Ms and all that hurricane Katrina crap. Anyways, I know some of you will laugh at me for asking, but I'm only computer literate to a certain extent. I'm getting rid of it asap, but everytime McAffee Privacy Service updates it bogs my computer down SOOOOO bad and then Windows tells me my virtual memory is too low. However, if I go back and un-install the privacy service completely, the computer acts just fine. I attempted to uninstall all of McAffee's products from my computer but it wouldn't work at the time. I'm thinking of running the recovery disk, getting everything back to day 1, and uninstalling McAffee and loading up Norton. Is this a good idea or a bad idea? BTW, I'm runnin P4 3.0ghz XP SP2, 512MB ram, 80gb hd. I know this isn't top of the line, but its better than a base system. Thanx, Wes
