virtual memory

Just what is the correct amount of virtual memory on a computer ment to be.

I usally have 768mb of ram on board but was thinking of taking that out and installing two sticks ,(1 gig and another of 512mb) giving me 1512 of ram.

I like to play on line games such as medal of honor, if that makes a different.
 
A good starting point if you're going to fix your VM size is twice your RAM, and see if things work well. If you crash, then go to 2.5 times, and try again. These are just rough estimates; I have 1 GB of RAM, so I have used a fixed VM size of 2GB and have yet to have a problem with heavy graphics, video, or audio editing or burning :)
