I realise many people have had troubles with viruses
but this one is pretty weird
i dont know how it got onto the computer because I am fixing my neighbors sister's computer, i would guess just dumb downloads on the net
the actual virus makes it look like its an anti-virus program (odd i know, just bear with me). i deduced that because it has a look-alike windows firewall alert down by the time (im not sure whats that called). but it gives you a popup saying that there is a virus and you need to click on the window to fix it. then it send you to some website.
this is basically just a nusence, but the problem is she cannot connect to internet explorer. She had her internet explorer cookie settings set to "Accept all cookies" before i changed it back to Medium, so Im going to guess thats what the problem originated from.
I have ran virus scans with the program she has on her computer (Trend Micro Virus i think), which found and quaranteened some stuff, but did not solve the problem. then i loaded (through a flash drive b/c i cant connect to the net) Lavasoft Ad-Aware Personal. It found 774 things and it instantly helped it the first itme i scanned it. but then in about 2 minutes it went back to the way it was (the net never really worked, well IE, it can connect to the internet, just not thru IE)
Im sorry this is so long, just trying to be throurough
thanks in advanced
