Hi i am currently having a problem with my computer.

before this issue came it took about 1 minute to start my computer up, now it take about 5 minutes. When im on my desktop i get this very split second lag every 2 seconds. Its not just my mouse its my whole computer and sometimes my mouse freezes up. Ive done virus scans such as Spy bot S&D, Avast (before boot up scan) SD fix, Disk defragment and Disk cleanup. Please resolve my problem.

Right Click on the Taskbar, select Task Manager. (Taskbar is the bar at the bottom of your screen where the Start button is.

Select the Processes Tab. How many processes do you have running?

If you click the CPU button twice, it should sort the processes by CPU usage,
showing the processes using the most cpu.

What are the processes that show up?

haha..I don't know if this is some kind of third-party s/w promotion..but I would like to suggest you to use CCleaner..google it and download this freeware..it generally cleans the junk and temporary files which are no longer in need for the system..run ccleaner manually or even better schedule it to run whenever the system starts up..besides, you can also do the same Bodaggit23 suggested by just clicking tools> startup and then delete or disable the services you don't want to start up everytime your computer starts..it's really a handy tool making my life easier at least..

Bogadit's advice is spot on. Tell us what processes are running and we can tell you which ones are slowing ur comp down and are not necessary.
