Virus Problem; expeiencing slowdown

Hello everybody. This is the first time I've been on these forums, and I have come here for help with a computer virus. The only real symptom is a general slowdown of my computer. I currently have Kerio Personal Firewall and AVG Free Antivirus installed, and during a weekly security scan, AVG has found a virus. A installed all recommended programs except hijack this; I cannot install it as I do not have a necessary file called "WinZip". As a result, I cannot provide a hijack this log. However, according to AVG the offending file is called "javainstaller.jar-5aa0b436-550ca9f9.zip". Please reply with clear, concise instructions as to how to deal with this file. As I do not possess a backup disk of the information stored on my system, I'd like to have this solved in as few steps/posts as possible before any damage can occur, preferably without having to go through installing Hijack this, or any other programs.

Please reply ASAP. Thanks in advance.

You are currently running at 40 processes, maybe thats causing the slowdown?? i try to keep the number of process below 30 as it seems to keep my comp running smoothly

I took Buzz's suggestion, and it worked. I re-ran AVG this morning, and the virus is gone. As for your suggestion Xelogen, I have 2GB of RAM, so I don't think processes are that big of an issue, but I'll keep it in mind.
