hi guys, sorry to bother you but my brother installed somthing in my desktop and i think my desktop is after getting a bad virus. either that or my motherboard.

its a dell studio xps 8100. core i7, 8gb ram,. it turned off on me, then kept turning on and turning off instantly. i then took out the memory and reslotted it, turned it on and it started to boot up, but would not display any picture on the monitor. the monitor is'nt responding to it.

i plugged in my external to see if power was going through that and it powered it up fine so im stumped.

would love to hear what people think would really appreciate it.

Really doesn't sound like a virus/malware issue. I would start by replacing by resetting the cmos by removing the motherboard battery, remove power cord from PSU, press power button on case a few times to discharge remainging power on motherboard, wait a minute and then reinsert battery and reconnect power and see if that works.
