Virus that doesnt let me Write anything

First, I'm aware of what to do before posting this sort of thread. The problem is, i cannot do what the Virus thread says to do. I cannot write anything to my computer. Most applications do not open and i cannot run Malwarebytes or HijackThis in Normal mode. Everything comes up as an error 481 Invalid Picture. also, i have Kaspersky Internet Security and when it scans the computer it finds "potentially dangerous" objects and doesn't delete or quarantine them. I am the administrator of the computer and when i try to uninstall any program, like Kaspersky, it says I do not have sufficient priveleges. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you

If you have the Windows Xp or your operation system cd, and NO important files on your computer.
Re-format the hard drive and upgrade to Norton Internet Security.
I had that for 3 years now and not one problem. Although Tracking Cookies appear to be detected now and then. :D

Norton can be a bit of a resource hog. Kaspersky is a good one. I use Avast Free and Malwarebytes. Avast is amazing and it barely uses any resources..

I've had Norton for a long time, and it takes up too much resources. Overall I'm happy with Kaspersky.
Back to the Issue at hand tho, it sounds like i'm pretty much screwed, and absolutely need to reinstall windows? the problem is that I do not have the XP CD anymore.

Might seem foolish thought but did you try this in safe mode too? 90% of the time Virus are disabled for the most part and will allow such programs to work.

I definitely did do HijackThis and Mlwarebytes in safe mode and it looked like it deleted some bad files, and everythig works fine in safe mode, but when I start it back up in Normal mode, everything is screwed up again. Should i post the hijack report anyway? even tho it is in safe mode?

also, in safe mode i cannot uninstall certain programs.

What you should do is, take the hard drive out of your system and slave it to another and then do a full virus scan on it. After cleaning any infections it finds then put the drive back in your system and finish scanning it with antivirus and malwarebytes. Please post the results of the scan when you put it in a different computer. Do not boot to your drive, Boot the other drive. Change the settings in bios.

Thank you for your suggestion. I did take out my hard drive and scanned it with Kaspersky and MalwareBytes on a different computer. Nothing came up in either scan. I'm beginning to think its not a virus but something else.
Anytime i open a major application it says "error 481, invalid picture" and any time i try to write something to the computer it says "access denied, ..... please make sure the disk is not protected or somethin .... " please let me know if you have any ideas/suggestions.

Thank you
Mikhail

I found a thread on another forum where a user was having a problem similar to yours. Turns out the issue had to do with the permissions on the users Temp folder.

The discussion is at this site:

Thank you for the reply, but unfortunately that thread did not come to a solution. However, i've been on the phone w/ microsoft today and they say its a non-virus related issue. It has something to do with Administrative rights and all that stuff. I have been poking around in the "security" tab under drive C properties and nothing. I've tried setting full priveleges for all users, but no avail. One thing that seems to be for sure tho is that i do not have any malware/virus.
