My friend sent me a link through AIM and I clicked it and it downloaded a virus (Trojan/Worm) onto my computer, It screwed up my webbrowser and and AIM buddy list, sent a lot of messages to people. My Avast antivirus program came up and I selected "move to chest" but my computer was still screwed up.
I did a system restore to a couple hours earlier and now everything seems fine. Is there a possibility that it is still on the computer?
 
Possible yes. Run a virus scan with your antivirus software, see if it detects anything. If you require more help Google "HiJackThis" and download/install it. Run a test, and post the results/log here under the "Computer Securtiy" section of the forums. Someone should be able to spot out any malware.

i was wandering? which one was it through AIM? my gf have some type of worm on hers to where right when you IM her or start a conversation.. a message says..

"click on this. it will help you get rid of viruses and registry. http://...............reg.exe"

something along those lines.. and i have been having trouble getting rid of it but didn't know how.
