Vista - 0x0000004F - Blue Screen

Hi,

My laptop was working fine last night, I put it on this morning and it loaded up and I logged in, then it froze up and wouldnt do anything - so I restarted and now it loads up and sits at a black screen before the welcome screen then switches to the blue screen of death with the code "0X0000004F"

Anyone know how to get back on as I have files I really need, thanks
 
have you tried a system restore to when your computer was working ?? like a couple of day's before this bsod?? ;)
 
Hi! If system restore doesn't work, how about a last known good configuration? I normally do these 2 troubleshooting steps if I encounter software problems. In most cases, one of them works. If not, then there might be a more serious OS problem to deal at. It will help if you post the error message here.

Error code :0x0000004f These are critical PC errors usually caused by a corrupt registry entry. To prevent further corruption to other hardware and applications on your PC, this error should be fixed immediately.

If the system restore and last know configuration doesn't work, the best to resolve this problem is to have you laptop HDD slaved by a different working PC. You have to retrieve all you important files from you laptop HDD and save it on a separate working HDD. The last option that you need to do is to reinstall the OS that you preferred.
