Vista 64 installed on HDD into new system

Hi All.

Im getting my new computer probably up and running next week. Just a question, I have both vista 64 and xp home installed on my 500gb HDD which Im going to put in the new computer.

Do you reckon they will boot in a completely new system (Phonem II 955, Asus M4A79T Deluxe etc)

Maybe, but I doubt it. It will be looking for the drivers and software of the other motherboard. Best to do a clean install.

Format the HDD and reinstall windows on the new machine.

There is some stuff you can do to make it more likley to boot. But its better to back your important stuff up and do clean installs.

Yeah I was planning to do a clean install, just was wondering lol if it would actually work, Im borrowing my mates 1tb external hdd so Ill transfer all my stuff over to that then formatt my whole disk so I can rearrange my partitions again lol.
