VISTA 64 to win7 64 - issues???

am currently running winVISTA 64 ULTIMATE and would like to upgrade to win7 ULTIMATE RTM but i have a few ??????

- is the RTM version the same as the version that will be released to the public in october?
- has anyone else done this? any issues?
- i understand that its an 'upgrade' and not a fresh install but will everything i run now really run on win7 without new drivers or will win7 automatically get the new drivers?
- any comments on compatibility with PROGRAMS, GAMES, DRIVERS or APPS???
- if i go through with this will i then need to install the public release in october to get the full benefits or will it just be a bunch of win updates?

Mostly, plus a few added bug fixes. For the most part, it will be unchanged.

Anything that runs on Vista should run on Win 7. Not guaranteed though.
I've never had to install a single driver in all the times I've installed Win 7.
It does a nice job of finding drivers that work, to get you up and running.
Not to say they will be the best or most current, but they'll work.

As stated above, Anything that runs on Vista should run on Win 7

You will need to install the official version anyway, as the RTM will expire June 1, 2010.
Starting March 1st, it will shut down every 2 hours to remind you that it's time to install the official version
You can upgrade from the RTM.
