You still have to right click on the desktop for this. Or while in the control panel you open the "personalization" icon seen there. The screen thath comes up has the list of options seen as links to open other screens like themes, screensaver and power options. display settings. appearance amd effects, and the boackground where you simply browse to a folder for a bmp or jpg file if you don't want anything included with Windows. You no longer have to click on an apply button since the change now is automatic.

thanks! i have done both and my vista is looking good! and boring as its grey but its all about the performance!

Thanks

Someone say "Classic"? That's the favorite word in the vocabulary here! :D When right clicking om the desktop or going into the control panel you set the themes and other things the way you want them there.

Dont you like Vistas Aero theme? :D

I'm not overly thrilled about desktop themes and the new sidebar. In fact on the third install of Vista here for triple booting the two versions of XP you can see where sidebars and other desktop clutter would be an annoyance. "he said that about...?" "Yes! ggrrr...! ............. !" :P
