Vista, C:\windows.old question

The reason you see that now with Vista is to allow you to save anything remaining in the former Windows directory into another or onto another drive even. Make sure you have anything important found there backed up and then simply toss it into the "good bye" list. It's that simple.

You are most welcome! Basically this is one thing Microsoft "finally" took into consideration when going to upgrade from one version of Windows to a newer one where XP simply deleted the older version's Windows directory without regard for anything you had left to retrieve from it. That's one thing to also make a good selling point for the new Windows.

I agree!

I like that about VISTA!

When looking over a new version, or in the Linux terms new distro there, I look at more then the desktop styles. I can't even stand the XP look let alone the sidebar and themes to some degree found in Vista. But the features and improvements are the things to add to the "pros" while the drawbacks go into the "what daa is this? " department. Well at least you can say that Microsoft got some things right with it.(about time  )
