So my new mobo arrived and everything us ip to scratch, besides my dvd burner refusing to read any new games as usual, but vista can't or won't connect to my network. I'm using a LAN cable, and i have installed the network drivers. The light on the back of the mobo is only green, isntead of green and orange. I can't update anything unless i have the internet. help!

EDIT: Vista is also seeing my E4500 as an E4300 in device manager. can i fix it without reinstalling? i just got everything customized.

OK, so i used my spare wireless stick, I have been able to get the net working and get updates etc, broswers work as well... but I'd prefer to use the cable connection, my brother needs the wireless card. Windows tries to find drivers online, but it doesn't find any. I manually installed the drivers again but still no luck.

Ok dude, it's been forever since i actually helped someone outside of the off topic part of this forum so...

Go to the device manager. Go to network adaptors. Your wifi card should be there along with the ethernet nic. Is there anything funky with the NIC? You might need to reinstall the motherboard drivers. Came (haha) on the disk.

I've tried the drivers. They install and everything but device manager just sees it as "ethernet controller" and says that the drivers are not installed. Don't bother trying to help though, i just bought another wireless adapter. :)
