vista directx

you need vista for true dx 10. xp does not support dx10 at all.

there are, however, patches for XP that will give you "dx 10 graphics" using dx 9. they look nice, but arent as good as true dx10.

if this is for the computer in your sig, i dont think it could even run crysis on low settings with dx10, nevermind ultra high, which is the only place you would notice the difference between dx9 and dx10 anyway

yes you do need vista to play with DX10, but DX10 didn't bring any too great, notable features and the "Very high" requiring vista is just a marketing trick... there's a hack to allow near-"very high" settings under XP and DX9.

Sorry got a bit off topic...but to answer your question, no xp can't handle DX10 (AFAIK)...

(Cleric beat me to it...)

well congrats that is a very nice improvement. if its not too late, you should rethink the CPU though, you can get a better one for less now. maybe an e6750, or even better, an e8400 if you can find one in stock
