I have vista 64. I was installing Windows Service Pack 2, and everything was going ok, SP2 was downloaded and my computer was restarted to finish the installation. After the restart in was finishing part 3 of the install when I left the room, when I came back it said the install was not completed and my computer was restoring to the settings from before the install.
When my computer was turned back on I went into windows update and now it says I have error 80070426. I've never had any install errors before.
I attempted to "Make sure that Slsvc.exe is running before you start the update." and was given error 0xd0000022.
In adition to this I was told to try what is listed here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058
I ran the Fix it application and restarted my computer but am still receiving error 80070426. I tried to manually fix my windows updater as per the instruction on the page provided and was unable to do so due to System error 5 "access denied" . This pops up on the command screen after I try to implement step 2.
How can I fix this?
