Vista Firewall

I was wondering if the Windows Firewall in Vista is decent enough to use. I tried ZoneAlarm firewall, but it didn't work for me. Is it ok to stick with the Windows one? I'm running Avast! as an AV.

windows firewall is the best if u ask me, the other ones are common and programs find loopholes thru' the other firewalls. avast is a very good antivirus. so is avira.

Eh, maybe I'm a noob, but all the crap surrounding the XP firewall has me turned off M$ lame attempts at "PC security". I mean really, How much has the Vista firewall changed? I dunno. :\

What didn't you like about ZA? because if it was just superficial there are other great, free software firewalls available. Comodo (i'm using), Sygate, Sunbelt kerio, Outpost. Or you could always get the superior hardware firewall provided in most routers.

The best configuration you can have for security is a router with NAT and SPI firewall enabled at the hardware level. I don't even run firewalls on my internal network I have everything running at the hardware level.
