Vista - Good Deal?

That's not a bad price , I paid $109.00 here in the US. Vista 64bit is great but make sure all of your hardware supports it and that you can find your drivers. Right now the only big problem is between Mircosoft and Nvidia , which has to do with SLI and gaming. Sli will not work even with Vista 32 bit. They are working on this but it's slow. That's why as you can see I dual boot Vista Home Premium 64 bit and XP Pro 32 bit. Good luck hope this helps.

Thanks for that! :) The hardware in my sig should all be fine I think...

There are Vista 64bit nVidea drivers aren't there?

Does it take a hit in general RAM managment and gaming FPS?

Yeah the drivers are on there website . They do also have the graphics drivers for SLI but they don't work as of now, too many problems. There are a few people who say that they have no problems in SLI.They must really be lucky. I ran it with 2 gigs and with 4 gigs and didn't not seem to be a problem. Both had good performace ratings from vista , as far as gaming someone else will have to elaborate on that as I only play games such as Tiger Woods 2007 , etc. When playing it on one GPU I've not had any problems. When downloading the Nvidia drivers , there is a note and link for so important hotfixes for Vista from Mircosoft on dealing with performance and realiabilty. Here 's the link (http://www.nvidia.com/object/windows_vista_hotfixes.html ).

Danny mate your rig should run Vista x64 no problems....it should get quite a high score in Vista experience aswell.

you will like it if you do decide to purchase it though because its alot better than Xp.
im gonna go Vista on my new rig.
good price too:)

Thanks Shane! :D

A few question...

Is it worth getting Vista if I don't have DX10, yet?
Is it better than XP?
There isn't any problems with getting the 64bit version?
Whats the OEM version, why is it cheaper?

Going to get this, to make 4GB, not bad for the price, worth it?

I dont know if this is factual or not, but from what I heard in another thread Microsoft wont be working on Vista much more, they realized it was a flop from the customers complaints, and will be switching back to XP until their next OS is out. Now again, this is speculation, but it's possible.

Anyways, I dont think Vista is worth it. XP is so much simpler to use, less of a resource hog, and is more compatible with other apps. I got Vista for free and I dont even want to install it as a dual-boot.

Is this a good deal?

Does it come with all the cool features, like the Aero and stuff?

Also, Any problems with 64Bit, Oh, and how much RAM does it use up, I've heard it uses loads?
I've seen a load of benchmarks and Vista seems to take a huge FPS hit! Bummer!

I pretty much avoid Vista. There have been a software compatability problems with it and the security isn't that great.

Ok, so this is strange, from some people I'm hearing that it's great and they really like it, but from others, avoid it, it isn't any good at all...

So now I don't know if it's worth $120!
