vista installation problem

Hi, I've been trying to install vista on my new PC. I start it up and go through the steps. I think it is at step 8 and it asks where do you want to install windows? It would usually have the drives displayed but on mine there aren't any displayed. The only option it gives is to load driver (to provide a mass storage driver installation). I don't have my HD driver, I didn't think they usually came with them. But I put in my mobo driver cd (vista supported), I go into drivers, then chipset, then inf, then vista and select only the ones that are configurable with my hardware. Theres about 20 of them. Ive tried most of them. including Serial ATA controller (ich7ide.inf and ich7id2.inf). I select it but then it goes back into the original where do you want to install windows, with my drive still not there. Dunno what to do.

System:
P5GC-MX mobo
intel 2200
western digital WD3200AAJS

Also, I couldn't find drivers on net for the HD, and the OS is Vista 64 bit.

Seems that maybe your HD format has been corrupted. Either that, or check that all the cables are properly hooked up. If that doesn't work, try getting a new HD and try the installation again.

Good luck

EDIT: almost forgot, HD's don't need drivers. at least never in my experience...also make sure that the HD supports 64-bit OS?
