Vista Installation Problems

HI,

I have recently changed my motherboard to an ASUS M4N2 and now I am trying to do a clean install of vista. the problem I am having is that when it comes to selecting what hard drive I want vista installing on - I get a error message telling me that vista cannot find any of my volume compatable and hence It will not let me install to a hard drive. Does this sound familiar to anyone as its doing my swede in!

Thanks

Unlike XP the Vista installer should be readily detecting the drive whether ide or sata there. Did you run Linux or another type of OS previously? You would have to remove the Linux partition first in order to have the Vista installer then proceed to partition and format the drive for the NTFS type primary needed. GParted live for cd can be used for removing the existing partition(s) and even creating the NTFS type primary for the Vista installer to fdrmat and install Windows onto.
