Vista Internet Explorer Problems

Heres the story, I've had some threads on here before and I was almost 100% sure it was my router that was causing my internet explorer to be slow on the wired connections I had going to my desktop computers... This is not true.. I've replaced the router and still have the same problem. All my wireless computers (2 Laptops at our house and 1 desktop that is two floors up in my brother in-laws room) work super fast on internet explorer. This led me to believe it was some how my wireless router. After returning it and installing the new one I'm still faced with the same problem. My internet explorer and my Firefox web browser is almost 90% of the time slower the hell. I mean super slow. I usually either have to close and open a new browser 1ce or twice or keep refreshing and cancelling untill it finally loads. My internet connection is quite fast as I download most files at 2mbps. Now I would suspect a driver issue however my Messenger has never once been disconnected even though my internet explorer was not working correctly. Considering that Firefox and Internet explorer 7 is both slow I cannot figure out what it could be. Is it a setting some where? I'm pretty sure its not a virus due to being over protected however I'm sure something could still get in. Please help.. Its beyond fustrating when you have a 1300 dollar computer that runs slower then your 500$ computer..... Thanks a lot,

are you being regularly disconnected? i had a serious problem with this, which could be confused for your internet being slow. i had to change the channel my router operated on to fix it. too much interference from portable phones, and other devices.

I'm always disconnected when I start up my computer. I Usually have to wait 5 minutes or go into the network window and click on the caution triangle between the network and internet line. Then I have to hit reset router from computer or something liek that and it fixes the problem. However even now the internet takes forever to load if it even loads. and watching videos on youtube and such are impossible. I get about 35 seconds into the video and it just says buffering.. It's happened maybe 1ce or twice on my other desktop computer that is running windows xp. Is it vista?
