Vista Mod's

So I recently upgraded from XP to Vista Ultimate 64-bit and was wanting to see what all cool mod's people have found for it. Right now I'm running the Aero theme with it transparent which is pretty cool but was looking for a non-standard theme to make people really go "Wow!" when they see my desktop. If you could provide some links with any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

that is just about the best one i have found so far. 99% of the stuff is free, there is the odd icon package or theme that the creator is chargeing for but generally they aren't that good or can be missed out on without being dissapointed.

There is loads of stuff there to change themes, desktops, icons, windows, bars etc, only found it yesterday and loving it, got new icons and start button and windows and colours, brilliant site.

You do need to download certain software to get the icons and some other stuff to work, windows blinds, icon packager, they are the 2 that you will mainly need, you can get em for free, just google them and it will take you to their home sites which have the freeware downloads. There are payed packages but they don't offer much more

Vista=Pretty and annoying

Vista=pretty and simple to use if you spend about an hour looking through the options.

That is about an hour looking through, then that is it, not each time you need to do something. It is so simple and self explanitory, i honestly can't see how people can have issues with it.

I'll take one example here. Networking. With XP i would try to use the network connection wzard thing they have and it is a bitch to use. I would add the MAC adress to the router and make sure braodcast SSID is on, go to connect to the network, put the pass in and it wouldn't work. Every time on every system i had to go through a million different windows and options and tabs to get to manually put in the channel, ID, pass, everything.

Now Vista, it works. You put the MAC adress in (i have turned this off on the router now, but it still works if it is on), put broadcast SSID on, click connect on vista, put the pass in, you are in, that is it, no fiddling.

I know that XP was a good OS but vista is 10x better imo in function and form. It is the best operating system we have ever seen, an unfortunately the price tag reflects that, but there is another thred for that discussion so lets keep it on vista mod's for now :P
