Vista on 2o Partition?

When going to install Vista onto a second drive here with a second primary created for it I was forced to allow the installer to replace XP Pro then on the first primary at the time. I had to reinstall Pro from the second ide to the first sata on the last build here. You might want to move the XP primary back and create a new first primary since Vista wants it! Otherwise it will automatically replace XP being the newer version.

As long as it's on the separate partition it won't cause any issues, except that Vista will be the default OS to boot from.

Vista isn't as easy to simply throw it on a second primary since it practically mandates the first primary it finds on a drive. And once you install XP onto a second partition with Vista on the first you then have to reinstall Vista to add XP into it's boot loader.

The installer will always place the boot information on the first drive found even if you have multiple drives and install Windows on a second or third. If there's an ide drive it will go directly to that one first to place the boot information/files there.
