vista OS issues - PLEASE HELP

Hello All,

i have ran into some issues on a vista pc
originally the system was not working properly
i ran mbytes found 2000!!! items.. selected to remove and reboot
after reboot pc only boots to black screen with white cursors

looked the the MBR/bootloader may have been damaged

i tried rebuilding via system repair disk.. tried with simple commands and from scratch..

now when i boot the system is saying ci.dll is either missing or corrupt.. how can i fix this? when trying to run a sfc /scannow from the system disc i get an error that it wont because a restart is needed for a recovery (tried restarts multple times.. same results)

please help!!!

Boot into the recovery environment and do a system restore back to before you ran MalwareBytes.

2000 items???

Did it say anything about virut or ramnit infections? If so, you need to reinstall windows. Do not backup any exe files.
