Vista Partition Software

I want to setup a backup partition so I can, obviously, keep my important files backed up. Anyway, since I'm using Vista I'm a bit spectacle about using any program so I was wondering if anybody has used a program and knows it works without any problems. Thanx.

Acronis TrueImage.

Norton Ghost is the best program for what you're looking for but last time I checked it isn't Vista compatible. I've used TrueImage on multiple Vista computers and gone through a few full image backups with it flawlessly.

You can easily resize the current primary and create a second partition "free of charge"(except cost of a cd-r) by one of two ways. Booting with the Vista installation disk now allows resizing partitions as well as creating new ones. The best tool for use on multiple OS doesn't cost more then a blank disk however namely GParted live for cd. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=115843&package_id=173828 Note the 0.3.3.0 version is the latest "platform independent" version to be looking at there.

Need a program for burning iso disk images like GParted? BurnOn works fast when burning the some 35mb iso image. http://www.burnworld.com/burnoncddvd/ Once you shrink the primary and create the second storage partition you will still have to format it. The two ways are either by booting from the Vista install disk or using the Disk Management tool for the full format.
