I just got an email from Microsoft....a whole HALF HOUR after I just finished installing Pre-RC1 It is available for download if you want it.

It's the latest BETA version of Windows Vista.

I'm guessing we still have to use the same CD key we had for the previous version of Vista, correct?

As far as I know. I wasn't pointed to a new key. I'm still downloading it though. It's taking forever. I guess everybody snagged it at the same time.

No, a key was given in the email.

Yeah, I got the email this morning too, and there it says you should use the same key you were provided when you downloaded beta 2. Good thing, because just last night I almost took the time to install beta 2.

I do have a question. I have had beta 2 burned on a dvd for a while, but never got around to installing it. So, is the RC1 version alone enough or do I have to install beta 2 and then upgrade to RC1?

You can install the RC1 version alone

I already have build 5384 and I don't want to overwrite GRUB again, like I did the first time. I rarely use Windows in the first place...
