Vista re-installation Q's

My PC was a prebuilt and therefor has a recovery partition.. my copy of Vista is badly out of whack, and recovery has not fixed it.

There are no viruses, there is no malware of any kind with the exception of a few bad cookies in FF.

I want to completely wipe this HDD, and re-install Vista using the Anytime Upgrade disc, which I know I can do because I have on another computer.. but, will my OEM key work with that fresh install of Vista?

I really would prefer to not wipe my HDD until I know for sure ;)

Yes.

From Memory, i have done this before.

I have had a Installation of XP OEM, And re-Installed XP using that CD Key.

You know how to Re-Format Vista?

but the recovery partition should wipe the entire thin. else look. there should be a program on there that makes a set of recovery dvd's

PLEASE TAKE CARE WHEN WRITING YOUR COMMENTS. I have never seen more than a One Liner Comment from you either . . .

Can You describe what is happening when you say it is "Badly Out Of Whack"

I have always found that backing up what you want and doing a Clean Reformat is always the Best way to fix all the problems.

It always seems to go that when you get one problem, More and More Follow!

The two biggest issues are listed there.

As for using the recovery feature, I did so about a month ago.. it appeared to work at the time but the OS was still buggy in other departments.. I used repair console to fix those bugs and these new issues arose.

I believe a fresh install of Vista would fix them.. but I could be wrong.

Also, does anyone know how to extract the key from a pre-installed program, or extract the program for re-installation later? .. My PC came with NTI backup and NTI CD/DVD maker which I use frequently for lightscribe.. so I want to download the trial and input my key to set it as a full copy once I re-install.
