I ran a test that will tell you if your computer will work with vista and everything checked out okay, eccept for one thing...........The graphics card. It is an Nvidia Geforce4 440 Go 64m

Is there a driver update or something that will make it compatible with vista??

What should I do??

I have a compaq presario r3200 with....

~1.6ghz amd athlon xp-m

~Nvidia Geforce 4 440 Go 64m

~512mb ram

Windows xp home service pack 3

thx

whyy???

btw....

do you think my system will be fast enough for vista?

Should I upgrade?

If so, upgrade what?

I also have a 40gb hdd

Anything below the FX5200 is Aero incompatible due to DirectX. I would upgrade the memory on it, to at least 1GB. Everything else is A O.K

even with 1gb vista will be slow
2gb is really needed

just stick with xp

and yeah i reccomend a 6 series or above, at least 128mb.

I agree with the last post. Stick to xp, don't install vista. Your PC is not powerful enough to run vista at maximum speed. You need more RAM, better vid card, it's just not worth it. And playing games or running programs which require much memory would be almost impossible.
