In Vista, I changed the locations of the "My Documents, My Music, and My Pictures" folders to locations matching existing folders on another drive where I have all my stuff. Now, the icons for those system folders are the regular yellow folder icons. How can I restore the nice blue Vista folders corresponding to Docs, Music and Pictures?
Note: in the process of changing the folder location, Vista copied the Desktop.ini file from the old location into the new one, and renamed it to Desktop(2).ini, since the new folder already had a desktop.ini file.
I thought I could find those .ini files and rename the second one to be called desktop.ini but I can't find those files inside the corresponding folders. I have it set up to show hidden files and folders, but I still don't see those .ini files. Would that be what would bring those nice icons back?
EDITED: I have been looking into it and I realize that I do need that original desktop.ini file. I don't understand, why I don't see ANY .ini file inside these folders. I should have two per folder - one called desktop.ini and the other desktop(2).ini. I also logged in as a guest to see if I could just copy the desktop.ini files from those folders and use them in my account. However, I don't find any .ini files in the guest account folders either. I have the options set to show hidden files, but I still don't find anything.
Could someone here maybe PM me and send me their original desktop.ini files for the following Vista folders: My documents, my pictures, my music.
Or maybe just post here what their .ini files say, so I can create my own?
Thanks.
