Vista Screen help!

Ok when i leave the comp on for a bit, the screen goes black, my monitor light is orange, i move my mouse around but it stays black

Im thinking its some sort of power saving settings, i've set my display sleep and all that to never, the other thing i didnt set was turn off the hdd, i've set that to never also, but dont know if this is the problem, anyone else know any other suggestions..?

may be it hibernates !
see if the processor fan is still spinning, if not then its hibernated.
push the power button to start the computer again.

Yeah i can hear everything running/spinnin, and also, i can still hear someone signing in on MSN so.....
