Vista Service Pack 1 Not Installing.

I did a system recovery on my laptop. I then updated windows. It installed over 100 updates except Service Pack 1. I try to install SP1 after the download, and it says it has been installed, but when I check the installed updates it hasn't been installed. I will then run Windows Update and it says to install that update again. I did this several times, but the SP 1 does't want to install. I got no error meesages. The Update # is KM936330. Any assistance in getting this fixed is appreciated.

Try manually downloading it from here. Choose the right one for your system (32 or 64 bit).

If it still doesn't take, do another system recovery and immediately download and install SP1 instead of doing it through Windows Update.

There are numerous SP1 available for Vista. how do I determine which one to download?
