Vista Service Pack 1

Since there seem to be different opinions about whether to install Vista's SP1, I thought I'd poll this group and see whether to install it on my laptop.

Different opinions? Are you sure your talking about the right service pack? XP SP3 was the one that had the major discussion. It's stupid not to install Vista SP1. SP1 fixed a lot of the major bugs that Vista had when first released.

Vista SP1 has improved many things, I haven't heard of anything major happening when people installed SP1. The ones I did hear about when SP1 was first released were fixed I'm sure with other various updates. I would highly recommend installing SP1.

Yeah, SP1 fixed many of the original issues with vista no sp. I agree with voyagerfan that you may be confusing it with XP SP3, which i also went ahead and installed on my xp machines. Besides, i think your gonna need sp1 when sp2 comes out...
