Vista startup - resolution

I’m having some issues with a computer I recently bought. The computer is running Vista. It first started screwing up after I tried to restart because the screen went to a strange resolution after a game crashed.
After the game crashed, windows only let me change the screen resolution between 800X600 or 1024X768 (Its usually on 1800X1600). I thought that if i restarted, it might fix the problem, but its been screwing up ever since.

When I start it, it comes up with a screen saying Windows Error Recovery.
I can run it fine in safe mode, but I cant change the resolution there.
If I leave it to run in normal mode, it goes to a screen with a green loading bar that has ‘© Microsoft Corporation’ underneath it. After a few seconds the screen goes blank, and says ‘no signal input’. Then the screen goes into standby, while the computer keeps running. It stays like this until I turn it off.

What do I do? If I change the resolution in safe mode, it just reverts. How do I get the screen to start-up in a resolution that’s good with the monitor?

Download your Latest Drivers for your Video Card.

It sounds as tho you are using Windows WDDM Drivers, Or Old drivers.

This would most likely be your Problem
