Vista to XP

I am planning on dumping Vista on my desktop and installing XP, question, downloading files from Vista, can they be uploaded to the XP ? I have heard that Vista & XP do not talk to each other.

What you will have to do is backup all of your personal files to a usb drive or something like that and then install XP on that computer. then move the files, any programs will need to be reinstalled. Make sure your computer has XP drivers for it... im sure it does. No XP and vista talk to each other fine but "talking" isnt going to be your issue since you are installing XP on the same computer and removing vista.

Exactly what quiltface said. The most important thing BEFORE you install XP is to make sure that you can find alll the drivers need for it, XP version.

The XP OS load's the drivers at the onset, the only additional drivers required is for additional video & sound cards not part of the original MB, did I miss something in your replies?

XP doesn't provide many drivers for Sound Cards, and only basic video drivers. You would want to go the the Web site of the Computer Manufacture, or Motherboard Manufacture for XP Drivers.
