My apologies for posting this twice but I wasn't sure which area was correct.
and I wasn't able to thoroughly check the forums to see if someone had already posted about this topic so if someone already had my apologies once again...but:
I am trying to take vista from one laptop and transfer it to another laptop that has basically crashed from viruses and is only able to function in windows recovery mode. I read that vista can be transfered one time. Just a few details about the laptops: both were giving to my by my friend, the one that crashed is an HP G60 that turns on but only can function in recovery mode and of course my friend never backed up his computer or saved any restore points so it seems as if i just have to load another copy of vista or windows 7. the second computer from which I'm attempting to transfer vista from is a newer Hp that has a working (but very slow) operating system (vista) but has major physical damage which is why I'm trying to transfer vista, the screen on the bottom left is splitting and the charging port going in and out and the mouse pad buttons don't work anymore....so fixing that laptop is out of the question.
I would just like to know if what I'm attempting is even possible and how to go about this transfer...I also think i have an old pc desktop that has windows xp on it, so I'm curious if the vista transfer wont work could i put xp on it even tho it had vista.
and my apologies for such amateur questions but I am trying to learn.
Thank you for your time.
