Ive just insatlled vista ultimate and my sound system isnt working. When i load in the driver i get sound but on reboot i get blue screened and the sound is dumped. Ive got onboard sound through a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum board and cant find anything regarding updating sound drivers to vista compatability. Im also getting a processor error in the device manager as well but the processor seems to be working ok.
thx

Sounds like you haven't installed all the correct drivers. When you load up the motherboard cd it should automatically figure out what drivers you need and automatically install them, at least I know that Asus and Gigabyte has the auto installing program.

Thx

Thx for the help but as Ive finally solved my problem (well for me anyway :) ) I thought i'd let others know what i did in case the same happens to them. After loading my drivers from my manufacturers disc and facing the "dump" problem. I download updates from microsoft with no joy. So i went out and bought a $12 soundcard and installed it and now all is ok. One thing to note if u load your drivers dont turn off your comp as it will then not allow u to load the "previous working windows" but keep looping to the dump. If this happens to get windows loaded again disable your AC'97 option in Bios then it should load windows ok.
cheers and I hope I have helped others as they help me
cheers
