I have a laptop with windows Vista on it and now my USB ports do not recognize anything i put into them. Memory sticks, Ipod, Camera ect. It asks for a device driver and searches but cannot find anyhting, my Ipod, and ect work on my desktop. Please if anyone knows how to fix this or knows of a windows update i would greatly appriciate it. Thanks.

What brand of laptop do you have? Have you recently installed the OS and forgot to install some drivers. I would contact the maker of your laptop and maybe you need to exchance it for having bad usb ports.

It's an HP and it's at least a year old. I have my mouse plugged into the USB slot and it works in any of them. But once i try to put in a memory unit or anything else it says it can't find any of the drivers on the internet, even though they work on a different computer with Vista i have. I read around google that people were having these problems but no one has found a perfect fix for it yet, so i was hoping someone here would know. Everyone says it has something to do with the C/Windows/INF folder.

I just joined this forum and can't figure out how to post, therefore tagging on this
post hopefully can tell me how....thanks a lot.Kodiak
