Hi guys first time poster new member i knew this was the place to cum with my problem - i have a new dell desktop and i hate windows vista it sucks none of my software will run properly( i make alot of music!!) and i just dont like the look of it,anywho my jerk off of a brother : ) said we could just reformate it and install windows XP on it,my question is can we do that? i mean will XP work on a desktop that came with vista ? if so anything i should look out for?

thanx guys - emily : )

it will work. you may need to find some drivers for some components, but as long as you can get online,it should be a non-issue.

I'd find the driver for your network card NOW and put it on a disc in preparation, because as long as you can get online, you can find all the other drivers you need.

Should work fine, I would just make sure you can get all XP drivers, download all the drivers first and burn them. Makes it alot easier.

if you go to dell's website and look up your desktop model you should be able to download xp drivers for it. I'd recommend doing that first and burning to a CD before you go forth and format the drive.

What app do you use to make music? There may be other alternatives that will work with vista, though I do agree with you vista is not worth the upgrade IMO.
