as most you will know.. win xp x64 had quite a few incompatibility issue's etc.. but i was wondering.. do you think vista x64 will have the same problem? I have a legal version of x64.. and I think (havnt found it yet) you can buy an upgrade licence to vista for it, no? so,.. i was actually thinking of doing that (if it doesnt cost too much ofc).. but I dont really feel like that if there is just as much issues then.

The x64 version of Windows XP will also have the same requirement. Although the final release of Vista will include both 32-bit and 64-bit iterations of the OS, Microsoft has not designed an upgrade path for the current x64 release, looks like a clean install for X64

XP x64 isnt as widespread as Vista x64 will be. At first there will be quite a few incompatibilities, but within a few months they should have 64Bit versions of everything. I would wait at least a few months before upgrading for the bug fixes, for programs to be released, and for the price to drop.

Theres going to be 32 and 64bit on the same vista dvd, depends on the pin number as to what is installed but theres no upgrade for XP 64 to Vista, you have to do a clean install!

one of the bugs is that x86 version of vista i couldnt set my 22in monitor to native resolution i know because i tried it on xp and i can sets it to native resolution. one of the drawbacks of using beta drivers.

"Notes:
If you are currently using Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional x64, you are eligible for an upgrade copy to a corresponding or better edition of Windows Vista, but a clean install is required.

For versions of Windows earlier than Windows 2000, upgrade copies are not available. These earlier versions of Windows require you to install a full copy of Windows Vista.

If the edition of Windows Vista that you choose to install will result in a loss of functionality over your current edition of Windows, a clean install must be done or the installation must be completed to a new partition on your PC."

Has anyone read anything about this? I have a legal x64 copy of windows so can I upgrade to vista through this program?
