i have a acer laptop with vista in it. how do i get to ms-dos. to f disk this out i have xp to put in.

In Search (click start > at the bottom) type cmd and hit enter

dont put xp on it. most likey they do not have drivers for the computer in xp. you are stuck with vista but it is a good os...
